AmigaVision for TheA500 Mini

The AmigaVision team does not distribute Amiga software, we only maintain an open source script that builds a setup if you supply your own demos and games.

We can point you to the search page of the software preservation section of archive.org, but note that anything available there is not built by—nor distributed by—the team, and the team has no responsibility for these files.

Installation

  1. and extract the archive on your computer.
  2. Copy the contents onto the root of a USB stick formatted with FAT32 — exFAT or NTFS will not work.
  3. Insert the USB stick into TheA500 Mini and switch it on.
  4. In the menu carousel, navigate to the USB Media Access item and press A (Red) on the controller.
  5. On Media Select menu highlight either Start AmigaVision (Mouse+Joystick) or Start AmigaVision (2 Joysticks) and press A (Red), followed by Home on the controller to launch AmigaVision.

These two different launchers exist because we want to support multiplayer joystick and mouse gaming/productivity/demoscene on a device that only has two USB ports without needing an external USB hub. Another limitation of the hardware that we can't fix 😅

Important: Never ever push the Menu button on the controller when highlighting Start AmigaVision on the Media Access menu on TheA500 Mini, otherwise you will corrupt the launcher’s AmigaVision files, and you will have to copy them from the included Backup/ folder again. (This is a fundamental design issue that affects any custom launcher on TheA500)

  6. Enjoy the ultimate Amiga games & demo scene collection!
